Saint Andrews by-the-Sea will be hosting one of the biggest Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in the province this weekend from June 2nd to 5th, which will include a gala dinner benefiting Ukraine at Drewhaven Town & Country on Saturday, June 4. Lee Wells who owns Drewhaven with his partner Andrew Faas felt there was no better way to honour the town's Loyalist history and ties to the monarchy than with a gala dinner honouring the queen at his newly renovated venue in the former Masonic Hall. 

"What better way for our town to pay our respects to the Queen and her 70 years of service than with the community coming together to do a benefit for the Ukrainian people?" said Wells. 

Those who attend the gala will also get a sneak peek of what's to come at Drewhaven beyond the event space, which will include the opening of a cafe and bakery in the first week of July. 

For those who are unable to attend the gala dinner on Saturday, Drewhaven is also generously sponsoring a community garden lunch in honour of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on Sunday July 5 at 12:30pm in front of the Anglican Parish Hall. Finally, this week is Disability Awareness Week in New Brunswick. Thanks to the amazing work of the Eastern Charlotte's Community Living Centre, St. George was chosen as the provincial launch site of the week's events. A barbeque took place on Sunday outside Repeat Boutique, a thrift store that not only helps fundraise for Community Living but also employs people with disabilities, empowering them with skills and confidence.
