Terrace Bay move Fall Market outdoors

The township of Terrace Bay held its annual fall fair outdoors on a beautiful sunny day. The event has been renamed the Terrace Bay Fall Market and was moved outside from the traditional location at the arena in order to allow for greater social distancing during these COVID times. Kim Krause from the Schreiber Media Centre spoke to mayor Jody Davis and several of the vendors that afternoon.

Mayor Davis explained the thinking behind moving the event outdoors and praised the vendors for taking part in this annual event. He emphasized the impact local businesses have on the economy of the area and the importance of promoting the town as a tourist destination. The entire plaza was transformed into an outdoor shopping area. Most of the vendors were thrilled that Terrace Bay had decided to go ahead with the fair as they rely on being visible and in the public eye in order to promote their wares. The vibe was upbeat and optimistic and social distancing regulations were adhered to in order to ensure residents well being.

With all the restrictions being placed on people in these last few months it was good to see people taking responsibility and getting out for some fresh air and taking part in helping the township of Terrace Bay support local business and promote a safe environment for its citizens.
